So instead of indulging in leftover holiday cookies and egg nog — today’s post holiday ‘take care of mama’ looks a little like this: ⁣

Drinking all the water⁣
3 mile walk outside ⁣
Sitting down for breakfast w/hot coffee⁣
Taking a shower and moisturizing after ⁣
Laying down still wrapped in a towel to BREATHE and enjoy a quiet moment ⁣

These are the BASICS fuel me. ⁣
⁣
Taking care of me in simple ways re-fills my cup. ⁣
⁣
And knowing how easy it is to “get back on track” when the BASICS are what matters — ⁣

makes me want to share this moment with you. ⁣

I’ve really been struggle with making decisions lately and the damn new year has me feeling overwhelmed and nervous I’m not setting the right goals or making the right choices to have the best year ever.. ⁣

I am second guessing every choice which is annoying and time consuming 🧐⁣

I’m sharing this cuz after some thought I realized that the things that make me successful are not my goals to be a certain weight or fit in a certain pair of jeans.. ⁣

The things that make me successful are my goals to be consistent with my daily habits that I’ve worked hard to put in place... ⁣
⁣
I don’t want to set a goal that adds stress to my life but I do want to work on goals that help me be consistent and allow life to be a little easier in the longterm.. ⁣

Simple.⁣
Doable. ⁣
Habits. ⁣
⁣

The extreme all or nothing is a shitty way to live. ⁣

Beating yourself up for LIVING and enjoying life seems crazy, right??? ⁣

But it’s how you respond after a normal life event like cookies at Christmas, beers at the bonfire, or tacos and margaritas on Tuesday… ⁣

that matters most. ⁣

Be normal. ⁣
⁣
Be consistent in the middle ground. ⁣
⁣
Learn to handle “normal” life events without feeling guilty for living. ⁣
⁣
Doing the BASICS consistently overtime is way more important than being perfect once in a while… ⁣
⁣

Or maybe eating only fruit? ⁣

Only CLEAN is how we lose weight? ⁣

WTF SHOULD YOU EAT? ⁣

It doesn’t have to be this confusing..⁣

And it’s actually not.⁣

but how are you supposed to know that if around every corner there is NEW diet promising you if you eat only meat and cheese and butter you are guaranteed to lose weight? 🤨⁣

It’s not your fault that the answer to your struggle is not black and white.. ⁣

you’ve been led to believe that you just need to find a new diet, stick to it and you’ll lose weight.⁣
⁣
But what I need you to know is this.. ⁣

You CAN lose weight without dieting and swearing off entire food groups.. it’s a simple process once you decide you’re done with the restrictive BS.⁣

hope that you never need to fall for some too-good-to-be-true quick fix bullshit again.. ⁣
